OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to foster community connections and promote creativity through the art of quilting. We strive to provide education, support and resources for quilters of all ages while using the power of quilting to make a positive impact on society through charitable projects and outreach initiatives.

HURRICANE HELENE RELIEF

As you know, there is a great need in the Appalachian area for disaster relief.  We are collecting quilts and pillowcases to send to the affected areas and will accept any kind of finished quilts (fleece, rag, tied, etc.) new or slightly used at this time.  We are also in need of backing and batting for quilts.  If you would prefer, monetary donations for backing and batting can be made on our Donate page (just specify when making the donation that it is for backing/batting).

Please consider donating quilts and/or pillowcases for this effort.  We are in October now and the disaster area will start having cold weather soon and quilts would be much appreciated.  Quilts are such a great source of warmth and comfort as well.  If we all join together, we can each give comfort in our own small way to help those that have been so devastated by this storm.

You can drop any quilt/pillowcase donations off at Wasted Women (they regularly meet on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month at Highland Presbyterian Church, 10024 Highland Road, Baton Rouge).  Also, someone will be there on Tuesdays from 10:00-12:00 each week from now until November 26 just for quilting drop off and quilt making/material pick up.
