SUMMARY:National Quilt of Valor Sew Day
DESCRIPTION:We are hosting a QOV (Quilt of Valor) Sew Day. \nPlease make patriotic 6-1/2″ unfinished blocks of any design (see photo below of samples) or patriotic 12-1/2″ unfinished star blocks. You can use your own stash or come by Wasted Women Bee (located at 10024 Highland Road\, Baton Rouge\, LA) to shop from their stash. \nOur QOV Sew Day will consist of sewing all of these wonderful blocks that you make into gorgeous scrappy QOV quilt tops. \nPlease turn in your blocks by January 13\, 2026 or sooner. Blocks can be given to any of The Giving Quilt board members\, dropped off at Wasted Women Bee or given to any of our wonderful volunteers. \nWe can’t wait to see what you create and look forward to seeing you at our Sew Day!

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our first Volunteer Sew Days event.  It is dedicated to the creation of charity quilts that will be distributed to some of the many charities that we support. \nSew along with your fellow quilters (from beginners to advanced)\, for a few days of sewing\, sharing ideas\, tips and lots of quilting inspiration! \nYou can bring your own fabric or work on some of the inspiration kits that we will bring.  If you would like to pick your own fabric from Wasted Women’s stash\, then swing by Highland Presbyterian Church\, 10024 Highland Road\, Baton Rouge\, LA 70810 on either the 2nd or 4th Tuesday of each month between 9-2 to shop their inventory. \nAn Ironing Station & Cutting Station will be available and we will provide water and coffee. \nLocation: EBRP Jones Creek Library \nDates & Times:  September 17 & 18 – 9:00 am to 8:30 pm.  September 19 – 9:00 am to 5:30 pm \nWhat to Bring: \n\nBrown bag lunch and some snacks to share\nRotary cutter & special rulers\nYou are encouraged to bring your own personal iron & cutting mat for small pieces\nYou are encouraged to bring your own Design Wall if you have one\n\nPlease click here to register for this event.
